Yes but even before that also they were having the least number of malayalam channels.They also removed many malayalam channels.

Mathrubhumi Group's Malayalam news channel set to launch on 23 Jan


Kerala's Mathrubhumi Group is all set to foray into the crowded news broadcast space with the launch of its Malayalam news channel Mathrubhumi News on 23 January.

The Kerala print major is also gearing up to launch its speciality channel Kappa on 1 February. The channel will have a mix of music and humour content modeled on the lines of 9X Media's music channel 9XM.
