The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has sought an affidavit from television broadcasting companies furnishing details of their boards of directors and latest shareholding patterns (SHP), including foreign direct investment (FDI) component for renewing licences in the interim period till 31 December 2015. In a notice dated 11 April, the ministry asked the broadcasters to send all requisite information, along with the supporting documents, within l5 days to enable it to proceed further in the matter. The ministry also asked the companies to ensure submission of the annual renewal fee for both uplinking and downlinking licences at the applicable rates for the period that may be due.
