News MIB seeks details from TV channels for renewal of downlinking licences

With the downlinking licences of 60 channels having expired and that of six channels set to expire by the end of the year, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has asked TV broadcasting companies to provide details of their board of directors and key executives for renewal of licences. Among the 60 channels whose downlinking licences has expired include SET, Sony Max, Star Sports 1, 2 and 3, Discovery Channel, NGC, Ten Sports, Disney Channel, Pogo, Zee Café and Zee Studio. The six channels whose licences are set to expire by the end of the year include Al Jazeera, France24, ESP News, Star Sports HD2, Granada TV and Trace Sports HD.
