In a shocking case of endangering to women's safety, mobile numbers of numerous girls and women were being sold by recharge outlets in Uttar Pradesh, reported The Hindustan Times

According to the report, the men at the phone recharging outlets save the numbers of these women and sell them for Rs 50-500 based on how 'ordinary' or 'beautiful' the girl looks. The person buying the numbers then stalks and harasses the girl and often sends her vulgar images.

It is not difficult to be a mobile recharge agent as all one needs is to do is fill a form and give a security deposit to an agency which deals with the individual and the mobile service operators.
