News MotoE to be discontinued

A few days ago we heard about Lenovo's plan to assimilate the Moto business into the main company's phone division to consolidate it. Now, there are some more details trickling about the integration and how that marks the death of much-loved Moto E. In all probability, there won't be a new Moto E in 2016.

The big plan, as Motorola's Rick Osterloh explained a few days ago, is to consolidate Lenovo's phone division so that one department is taking care of all the phones whether they are Vibe phones or Moto phones.

Along with the internal consolidation, externally, in the market, too there are changes. The big change is that even though Motorola brand will continue to exist, the focus would be more on promoting Moto as a standalone brand. Osterloh, also reportedly said that Moto phones would be high-end phones while Lenovo's Vibe would take care of the mainstream and entry-level market.

"Motorola Mobility continues to exist as a Lenovo company and is the engineering and design engine for all of our mobile products. However, for our product branding we will utilize a dual brand strategy across smartphone and wearables going forward using Moto and Vibe globally. 'Motorola' hasn't been used on our products since the launch of the original Moto X in 2013."

Good. They have made Moto E 3rd class from 2nd and 3rd generation. Its better they discontinued it and now they will be promoting Lenovo handsets.

But I am not impressed with lenovo phones, my colleagues who purchased those phones are having some or the other issues within 3 months of purchase.
