MSM gets licence for two new HD TV channels

NEW DELHI:

AXN HD and SET HD, both from the Multi Screen Media (MSM) bouquet, are the only two private television channels permitted for downlinking into the country during 2014.

All the other nine channels which got permissions in the first four months of 2014 are to be uplinked from within the country. These include the news channels NSN News, VIP News (earlier known as Prabhatam NSB), Satlon News and Prabhatam Lifeline.

The general entertainment channels are: Daati Ahsaas, Satkar, Hastey Raho, the Bengali channel Fatafati and Maha Movie.

With this, the total number of private channels uplinking from or downlinking into the country has gone up to 795.

According to the statistics revealed by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry today, the number of news and current affairs channels is 393 while the number of non-news (general entertainment channels) is 402.

Of the total, 669 TV channels including 372 news channels have been given permission to uplink and downlink from within the country.

The Ministry also placed on its website the names of the companies which own these channels, the language, and the date when permission was granted.

AXN HD as expected..But SET HD?????

Is MSM planning to launch 2nd GEC "Sony SET 2 HD" to existing "Sony SET 1 HD"???........ similar to 'Life OK' of Star N/w as for last one year both Star channels-Star Plus HD & Life OK HD (+ ZEE HD & Color HD) beats only whole n sole Sony SET HD in the TRP race of TV listings much behind.

As earlier said out 2 new-upcoming gec-movie channels, one is 'MAX 2' which gone be added soon as being advertised on SIX HD & MAX SD. So Above 2nd GEC was 2nd SET HD as said.

It's other thing that MSM already having license of other HD channels MAX HD, PIX HD,MIX HD & SUB HD.

The second channel is a Korean based GEC named 'Set One'.

yeah launch of "Sony PIX HD and AXN HD" is around the corner as both being in India test transmission from last 2 months.
We might see both the launches happen soon after IPL final.

At the same time, FIFA World Cup 2014 is being telecasted on Sony SIX HD from June-July2014, so fingers are still crossed.

AXN Network India, a subsidiary of Multi Screen Media (MSM), has got licences for two channels, namely AXN HD and SET One in non-news and current affairs category.

So it is cleared that both these channels(HD) are under AXN Network India- the subsidiary of MSM n/w.

So After AXN HD launch , we can expect another HD channel launch from AXN.

Set one may be second GEC HD channel or would air eng shows dubbed in Hindi.

OR there is possibility of branding "AXN HD" with new English GEC shows similar to SWP HD and adding 2nd HD GEC with older show series having additional Hindi dubbed shows option(Dual lang) with "new name(AXN 2 HD)" by renaming this SET One HD.
