After recently launching a Tamil feed, lifestyle channel NDTV Good Times is now looking at more regional languages. “We right now have English, Hindi and Tamil.

We are next planning for Telugu and Bengali,” channel head Arati Singh told Televisionpost.com. Singh explained that the aim is to make lifestyle content available to a much wider audience.

When asked why it has taken so many years for the channel to take the language plunge, she noted, “Our programmes are all Indian and original, not dubbed western content, and therefore very easy to understand.

We are now adding languages in an effort to take our content to a wider audience base.”

Without elaborating further, she said that this year NDTV Good Times is focusing sharply on the digital and mobile space.

In terms of the programming strategy this year, she noted that in line with the changing lifestyle interests of the Indian market, the channel changes its programming strategy each year.

“We have added a lot of wedding programming in the past year and plan to include more content related to fitness and wellness in the coming year.”

This year, a big part of the channel’s marketing strategy would revolve around social and mobile platforms, she revealed.
