HELP Need your advise on surrendering dish tv box

Hi All,

I didnt use dish tv set top box for 9months and they asking me to surrender. Please advise whether I can surrender it coz I have already paid for the box and antenna Rs.1900.

You have to surrender since HD box is company's property, BTW tries to give some excuse and see whether agrees on it or not.

as per law, they cannot force u. though all the stbs r comapany's property.
so if they r forcing u to surrender than take legal action against them .
write a strong mail to consumer forum n within 24 hrs ur problem ll b resolved.

This thing started by Airtel first and I think no one took any action against them.

Second thing if we hate something and not willing to continue ever then why not surrenders the connection ? If we thinking about Rs. 1900 then think once that how many old items we sold just because it is useless for us.

As per company terms and conditions which everyone has signed while taking connection, STB needs to be returned. So don't give Gyan without knowing the facts dude.

You can make simple excuses that he will recharge after few months and they won't bother.

If they call again after some month you may tell them that you lost the box in house theft or any xyz reason.

that i know. but as per the law dths cannot force us to return it back. thats wat i meant. whatever u said is right n i think every person who is active in forum world knows about it.

also wat u said is right but applicable to with some conditions . there r three ways of selling the stbs, there is hire purchase agreement also. i can even purchase on monthly rent basis which shud not b more than 42 rs per month for a maximum period of 5 years only. so only on those company can ask return back of their stbs.
