Nexus 7 tablet has been priced at Rs 15,999 in India.

The new tablet, which was launched last year in the U.S., can be booked online now. It will ship to consumers on April 5.

This has become the first Google device to be sold through the company’s virtual store in India. Indian consumers can now pre-order the tablet through Google Play store.

The Nexus 7 is powered by Tegra 3 Quad-core processor running at 1.3Ghz. It has a seven-inch screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels. It has 1GB RAM and a 1.2 mega-pixel camera for front chat. For now, Google is offering only one model of Nexus 7 in India. The device has 16GB storage and support for Wi-Fi but not 3G.

Just a week after Google made its 16GB Nexus 7 tablet available for the Indian consumers via its Google Play (India) store, Asus has launched the 32GB version of the Google Nexus 7 tablet in India. The tablet comes in two versions - 32GB + 3G and 32 GB WiFi only model.

The 32GB Nexus 7 3G version is priced at Rs 21,999, whereas the Wi-Fi variant will be available in India for Rs 18,999. The Nexus 7 has a 7-inch Back-lit IPS HD display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels at 216 ppi. The screen is said to be covered with a scratch-resistant corning glass. The device has a 1.2 megapixel front camera.

The Google Nexus 7 is powered by a 4325 mAH battery which is claimed to give up to 8 hours of active use. It runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor. Its connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and NFC (Android Beam).
