QiKU, pronounced ‘chi-koo’, a venture between China’s QiKU 360 and Coolpad, launched the QIKU Terra smartphone in India today. The smartphone is priced at Rs 21,999 in the open sale, which is available without an invite. However, with an Q-Invite, the device will be available at Rs 19,999 respectively. The company will start sending out Q-Invites from December 5 and will be available for purchase via Gadgets360 for Rs 19,999. The Q-Invite system specifications will be announced next week.

The device, which sports a magnalium alloy uni-body, features a 6-inch IPS FHD display. The device uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection and offers a 2.5D curved glass along with a 1.4mm side bezel.

It is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, piared with 3GB RAM. The device also uses an airspace cooling technology which helps to keep the phone cool. In terms of memory, the smartphone includes an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

The QiKU Q Terra runs on Android 5.1.1 with 360 OS interface. It claims to have security and performance features of the latest Marshmallow. It comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with an 8MP front facing camera. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, and GPS.

One will also find a fingerprint scanner placed towards the back. The company claims that the device can be unlocked in 0.5 seconds. Apart from fingerprint scanning for unlocking, it can also be used to take photos and receive calls respectively. A 3700mAh battery completes the package.
