RIL's subsidiary, Infotel Broadband Services, is planning to provide end-to-end solutions that address the complete digital value chain across various digital services in key domains of national interest such as education, healthcare, security, financial services, government-citizen interfaces, entertainment.
Infotel, which is planning to launch 4G / LTE services shortly, is currently working on building the requisite parts of this customers' experience which fundamentally change the lives of hundreds of millions of Indians, RIL said in a statement announcing its quarterly result.
However, RIL is still silent on the launch date. Airtel is the only telecom operator in India to launch 4G TD-LTE services in India "“ Kolkata and Bangalore.
Though Aircel announced that it will launch its TD-LTE services in October-December, industry watchers are cagey about their launch plans.
In 2010, Infotel Broadband Services Limited has emerged as a successful bidder in all the 22 circles of the auction for Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum conducted by the Department of Telecommunications.
