Secondary connection at a different location?

Let me know if this is possible
  • Person A buys a Tata Sky HD(or any DTH for that matter). He also applies for a secondary HD connection. He takes Mega HD pack to get all the channels. He pays whatever is required for the secondary connection so that he can get all the channels in the secondary connection as well. I guess it is Rs200 for secondary HD connection.
  • Person A also has the same DTH(in this example Tata Sky) registered in his name in other location(say his native place). In this place also he has Mega HD pack to get all channels.
  • Total amount he is currently paying is: Rs400(current place) + Rs 200(secondary connection at current place) + Rs 400(native place) = Rs 1000.
  • Now he decides to use the HD box which he is using as a secondary connection at his native place. He stops paying subscription fee for the connection at his native place.
Questions:
  • As everything is set up his native place, just replacing the HD box withe secondary connection box will work for him? This way he can pay just Rs 600 = Rs400(current place) + Rs 200(secondary connection of the current place which is at native place now)
  • I can understand that if there is any issue with the cable or alignment of dish antenna, he can't get support because he has stopped paying for native place's connection and using the connection which is registered at other address. Are there any other issues with this set up?

I think the secondary connection is connected from the 1st connection Dish Itself. I dont know exactly about MultiTV connections but read somewhere as above.

I asked this question because I don't think there is any link between dish/LNB with STB. As long as there is signal and STB is active, you should be able to get the channels.

s it is possible to have a secondary connection elsewhere if any and only if the primary is registered in ur name.I have a tata sky hd+ connection with mega pack at Shimoga and I am enjoying a tata plus connection at Bangalore with Rs 200 as subscription for all the channels since the primary connection has mega pack.

Gopichand Pai You are perfectly correct in putting this logic.

Its will work 101% as per your calculation. Infact i am planning to use this technique since long but due to laziness was avoiding it.

Everything will work smoothly. Only issue you might face will be when STB becomes faulty or Dish is misaligned. In that case Engineer visit will be required and he will provide service only on the Registered Address.

If you or anyone else can overcome this problem, then they can easily save some good chunk of money every month.

I really appreciate your effort to keep this intellectual way of saving money

Have you taken Multiroom connection in 1st attempt itself at 2 different places or shifted the secondary after taking both at same place ?

Well in that case u have to buy extra Dish LNB . Officially they r installing dual Out put LNB or quadra LNB for multi TV connection in the 1st Connection Dish .
else to view channels Signal is enough in STB. :pI was talking about official way only. :p
