Most of Tamil channels will slowly go down as there are nothing to telecast (serials) since no one can come out. No power. it will be good decision if they shut down and take a break.

Television channels get content backup of a month before the telecast so it is not an issue but due to the technical glitch and power supply being cut down the channels would be on break for some time.
