Even Sony Xperia Z and Z1 got Kitkat 4.4.2 update

But when my brother updated his Xperia Z started created lots of problem like phone hand, battery drain. So, he have to submit to service centre and in return a new replacement handset.

Why not try re-installing the software after a clean wipe/factory reset. Let him use Sony Update Service.

Since Sony Xperia Z series comes with replacement warrenty, so my brother though to replace it instead. Also he told that there was some speaker issue too.
