Rupert Murdoch-controlled Star India is eyeing an EBITDA of over $500 million by FY18 and hopes to double that by 2020. “We believe that by FY18 we should be able to deliver EBITDA in excess of $0.5 billion and, by the turn of the decade, deliver an EBITDA of $1 billion for Star,” said Star India CEO Uday Shankar. Star’s entertainment business has a healthy EBITDA margin of over 30 per cent. “Entertainment business has a very high margin. It is north of 30 per cent margin on which we operate and I think overall business is going to be very well supported by that,” Shankar said.

Good that Uday Shankar is boasting of Star's RIO model which is helping them to raise ARPU.....
Also nice to see if Star launches city specific channels....
Btw there was a news about James Murdoch mandating Uday Shankar for STAR to show $1 Bn EBTDA before 2020.....

^^ City based channels means.

BTW Star can achieve any target, nothing is impossible for them now.

"According to Shankar, digitisation has thrown open the possibility to segment even further like having a city-specific channel.
“So far even if you wanted to create a channel for a big city like Delhi or Mumbai you didn’t have the vehicles to do that. Going forward, we think we will be able to do that because India is a country with so much diversity,” he said."
