I am thinking in different angle, Nimbus earned BCCI telecast rights and started two channels, NEO Sports and NEO Cricket. Now they are already on the verge of extinction, hoping SS2 don't get that fate.

Could be but after closure of ESPN, this channel would easily survive until next 5-10 years as they have lots of broadcast rights.

yes, I heard that they gonna make fresh deal for this new channel. So, operators are least interested to invest money on this channel when other Star Channels are present.

Star India Should have started some sports Channels...so by this its very clear that the indian match telecast rights acquired by Star India will be telecasted in SS channels ...

Ad-free channel till now.
But disappointed with content of ss2.
I thought they would show old f1,football,tennis highlights in free time.
But they are showing kfc,hil,ind vs aus,ranji,deodhar trophy etc.
