Dish TV is the pioneer of DTH Service and invested money in transponder space long before others could understood that there will be scarcity of space and permission in acquiring Transponders.

Actually our Govt is responsible for it. If they would have agreed for Open Sky policies, every would be having abundant space. Even the Anthrix was involved in scams and all.

Dishtv will never short with Satellite side they already got TPs from SES 8 then SES 12 is aiming to launch at 2017 and backup SAT of Insat 4B is also going to launch at 2015 and so, they have no hurry and even have enough time to quietly migrate to MPEG 4 operation

The traditional wide-beam mission consists of 54 (36 MHz equivalent) transponders that will provide state-of-the-art replacement and growth capacity for SES’s existing DTH, government and VSAT customers allowing for a seamless transition from NSS-6 to SES-12.
