Buoyed by strong advertising revenues, leading entertainment broadcaster Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) posted a healthy 20.4% growth in operating profit for the fiscal ended 31 March 2016. ZEEL’s consolidated operating profit stood at Rs 1,509.6 crore (Rs 15.1 billion) in FY16 compared to Rs 1,253.7 crore (Rs 12.54 billion) a year ago. EBITDA margin stood at 25.8%. Net profit was up 5.5% to Rs 1,028.9 crore (Rs 10.29 billion) from Rs 975.5 crore (Rs 9.76 billion). PAT margin was at 17.6%. Consolidated operating revenue stood at Rs 5,851.5 crore (Rs 58.52 billion), representing an increase of 19.8% from the same period in 2015.
