Sun TV Network is likely to land up with a revenue upwards of Rs 150 crore ( Rs 1.50 billion) from its FM radio operations this fiscal.
Taking a step in this direction, Red FM has decided to hike its ad sales by 20 per cent with effect from 1 July. The reason: an inventory crunch in metro markets and key cities.
Says Red FM COO Nisha Narayanan, “We realised that the existing balance between demand, supply and pricing is not optimum. To address the demand and supply situation and properly service brands, a rate correction was required. There is an inventory crunch in most of the developed and emerging markets and that has made the rate increase inevitable for us.”
Red FM had last upped its ad rates by 20 per cent in June 2013. The rates then were stated to be in the range of Rs 1,000–1,150.
