Sundirect HD Recorder limitations

Yesterday, Customer care told me the following

a. In HD recorder, You can only record what you are watching or tuned to. You can not watch a channel and record another channel. Like other DVR offerings from other service providers. I think this is because the HD STB has only one tuner and not two, like other companies.

b. In HD STB, You can record only for maximum two hours at a stretch. After that, You need to "restart". I do not know what this means. Can we not record a program which lasts more than two hours?

I request all to clarify and comment on the above remarks by CC.

Also, Kindly explain if there are any other problems or limitations to the HD STB with external facility.

As far as i understood ur quotes that
There is a limitation in the USB recording support by STB SW,
Restarting means > A new Recoding operation to be started as the maximum length is 2 hours in the STB SW,

To watch one and record another, either splitter or dual cable input is required.

With one cable input, same channel can be either watched , recorded or used for play-pause-rewind.

And this is with every DTH .
