News Tata Sky made Customer pay Rs 30,000 for false claim

Taking no sides, its a mistake on the part of the customer to have even approached a forum without a fool proof proof of purchase / affidavit.

TS is no saints either .. Few months back my room was getting painted and other civil work was going on .. I had unplugged both my TV and TS box .. On completion of work when I restarted the TV and TS I found that the TS box was not working properly .. Every alternate channel was not coming showing me the error message we get during rains .. So I called the TS techie .. On inspection he told me that one wire was broken from the terrace and he would need to replace it .. Since the distance between terrace and my flat is a bit he told me additional wires would be needed and I would need to cough out around 1500-2000/- ..

I told him ill let him know .. My servant is good with electronics .. He tried to figure out any loose connection and found that one wire which came from terrace to STB was not fit properly .. During construction in my room it must have come out .. So he fitted the wire back and voila all channels started coming ..

So in this case is the techie dumb ?? Does my servant have more knowledge than TS techie ?? Or its obvious I was being looted by TS .. I never reported this matter to TS ( my fault ) and I just let the matter die ..

Gaurang bro, in your case it was your individual connection but in my case its a MDU connection and entire backbone infrastructure is maintained by Tata Sky only. Still the engineer who had came to install my new connection brought a electrician with him and they asked me to pay Rs 500 for the things which i won't own. they made changes and repair work in their permanent MDU cabling.

Since it was 11:30 at night, so i paid them by looking at their exhausted and poor face else i won't have paid a penny.

They try softly, Infact ts teche try to fool me too during installtion but when i refuse to give him, he said it will be deduct from balance, i agreed and no deduction. I was expected same during exchange of stb but they didnt demant anything

One of my friend who own reliance told me that when he booked complaint with their customer care , engineer came and rectified his issue. Also he gave his number if any issue happens next time.

Next time when my friend was having issue and he called he replaced the faulty LNB in half the actual price and even took hald the visit charge.

So, Reliance service is more customer friendly :p
