The next installment of Telltale's The Walking Dead will land sometime later this year.
The news comes courtesy of an interview between the developer and Mashable. In the article the studio also leaves some vague clues about how it will tie into the first two seasons.
Telltale CEO Kevin Bruner says the new series will take an "unexpected" approach to tying together previous stories. He specified that it wouldn't be from "the bag of tricks that we've ever shown anybody before."
More information will be revealed about the new season at the 2016 Comic Con International. At least the first episode of the new season will then release before the end of the year.
Telltale is currently in the process of releasing The Walking Dead: Michonne. The miniseries is not a direct continuation of the plot from the first two seasons, but a three episode side story focusing on the title character. While it was previously scheduled for last year, Telltale delayed The Walking Dead: Michonne into 2016.
