Update Times Now reshuffles editorial resources

As Times Network is shifting a lot of its staff members of its flagship English news channel Times Now from Mumbai to Delhi, the company has attributed this move to a better synchronisation with the digital team which has been established in Delhi. The company is planning to recruit a total of 140-150 people for its digital operations.

“The Delhi move of Times Now is strategic and for better efficiency and to integrate with our digital future. When we started recruiting people for digital, I realised that the quality of people in Delhi and Bangalore is much better. Most digital and technology companies are in these markets and we didn’t want to be an island. Hence, from a long term perspective, we have decided to operate that part of the business from Delhi,” said, MK Anand, MD and CEO, Times Network.

The company has also decided to reshuffle its editorial resources and align them to best suit its three news channels – Times Now, Mirror Now and ET Now. In the process, the Mirror Now and ET Now teams are shuffling places within the Mumbai office, and a considerable size of the editorial workforce from Times Now is shifting to the Noida office.

Times Now has been working on a two news centre model since the start – from its Mumbai and Noida offices. With the recent move, the Times Now team in Delhi is set to be larger than that of Mumbai.

They had the Mumbai setup only for Arnab. It was the only national news channel with main news center @ Mumbai.
Now that Arnab is out it was obvious to move to Delhi
