Toshiba India has launched what the company claims to be the world's first large-screen glasses-free 3D TV - the RZ1.
With a contrast ratio of 9,000,000:1, this 55-inch TV allows a large group of viewers, each facing the screen from a different angle, to share the 3D experience.
Priced at Rs 12 lakh, the RZ1 is said to display 2D content at four times of full HD resolution.

The Toshiba RZ1 is powered by the Regza engine CEVO DUO S, Toshiba's multi-processor platform. To optimise viewing zones and align them with viewer's actual positions in front of the TV, the RZ1 includes a face tracking application. At the push of the remote, it detects the viewer's position and sets up the viewing experience accordingly.
Toshiba has also launched six other TV models in India - the RW1, PX200, PT200, PS200, PU200 and PB200 - under its new 'Thinking LED' range.
With this launch, Toshiba has widened its LED portfolio to 22 models, with the screen sizes ranging from 19-inch to 55-inch at a price range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,00,000.
