After Google and Facebook, microblogging site Twitter Inc. announced the introduction of four new Indian languages Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil on its platform.
The microblogging site, is eyeing millions of Indians as local language content and offerings are expected to be a large market in India over the next five years.
Mobile Internet users in India are estimated to grow to over 300 million by 2017 from the current 159 million in 2014, according to a report.
Earlier, Facebook and Google also have offered more than 10 Indian languages on their respective platforms.
Twitter also said it has updated its Android app to support the new languages. It has also confirmed the company will not include more languages in their platform.
