HELP usb unlimited recorder

Hello guys and experts.... need some help and suggestions on this model. I recently purchased this model. There are conflicting answers available on the internet about this model. could u kindly clarify these.

- Can i record on USB Pen as well as USB Hard disk (What is the max capacity of disk and USB version)?
- Any particular brand/model of USB HDD for recording?
- Are the recording/playback smooth on the external media?
- Do i need to keep the media always plugged into box? And if i unplug do i need to reformat it when plugging again and loosing the data?

Any other suggestions and advice too would be welcoming.

1. Any USB external storage with 4GB and above upto 1 TB should work.

2. No specific brand as being communicated by d2h

3. As per user reviews, recording is smooth.

4. Yes. If unplugged and used somewhere else recording will be lost.

Also, you will either be record or watch one channel area time. But you will be able to watch one and record another if both channels will be in same transponder.

yes waived. dude just partly out of topic question. my 4gb pendrive formatted thru STB is showing only 73MB on PC. How do i format on PC to get the 4GB back. Tried formatting on PC as well as using Easeus Partition Pro. In this software it shows 4GB. But in windows it does not. Any help is appreciated

When you are plugging USB pendrive into PC, isn't it asking to format ?

Ideally it should ask to format because formatting used in Set Top box is unsupported in PC.

Yea is asks to format. But the format results in only 73MB of space. But I have resolved the issue with a partitioning software and got back the 4GB. Thanks
