Videocon Mobile Services announced plans to launch high-speed data LTE products and services in the second half of 2013 in Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, UP (East & West), Bihar & Jharkhand.

The announcement follows the company’s participation in the recently concluded 2G Spectrum auction. Videocon Mobile Services has bagged liberalized spectrum in the telecom circle of Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh along with 5 other circles of Haryana, Gujarat, UP (East & West), Bihar and Jharkhand.

Having re-won the spectrum for the 6 circles, viz., MP-Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, UP (East & West), Bihar & Jharkhand along with Punjab wherein it already has its ongoing operations; Videocon Mobile Services will ensure that customers keep on enjoying the best services and great value for money product offerings seamlessly, the company said.

The liberalized spectrum can be used to roll out Next Generation Networks and Services by adapting a highly spectrally efficient 4G technology FDD LTE. This enables operators to gain more efficiency using the same spectrum resources. Next-generation network technologies enable about 30 times more data capacity than a traditional 2G network, allowing telcos to extend the lifespan of existing spectrum assets and reduce the amount of additional spectrum required.
