Vodafone India has set a Guinness World Records for uninterrupted talk on its mobile network for more than 24 hours.
This record of most number of people in a telephone conversation relay makes Vodafone as the first ever telecom company in India to get a distinction for its telecom network.
The uninterrupted telephone conversation relay was for 25 hours 11 minutes & 40 second in Mumbai with the most number of people. The call started on 28th March 2012 at 12 noon and went on till 13:00 hours, 11 minutes and 40 seconds. There were a total number of 36 people who participated in this uninterrupted conversation.
"It is a momentous occasion for each one of us at Vodafone. This record is recognition for the team and testimony to their efforts to ensure superior quality network, which is characterized by seamless connectivity, voice quality & clarity and no call drops," said Sanjoy Mukerji, chief commercial officer, Vodafone India.
"This is heartening and a result of the consistent efforts to strengthen our network. We, at Vodafone have made considerable investments in the quality of our network and customer service and are geared up with the technology to enable us service our customer base across the country," said Vishant Vora, chief technology officer, Vodafone India.
Vodafone India has operations across the country with over 150 million customers.
