JAIPUR: Pandit Ashok Sharma is waiting for the movie Padmavati eagerly. Not because he is a film buff but because he can’t wait to set fire to film theaters playing the film.

When asked why, Sharma explained, “Something in it is bound to offend me. I don’t know if they will actually show a romance between Queen Padmavati and Aluddin Khilji but I’m going to protest anyway because it’s been a while since I threw a tantrum. One of my earliest memories was when my father took me to protest Deepa Mehta’s Fire. I was 15 months old at the time and had no idea what a lesbian was but I knew that it was against Indian culture. I still remember how my father gave me a can of petrol and asked me to pour it on a scooter so we could set it on fire. Then he danced around the burning scooter…I couldn’t join because I had just learnt how to walk.”

Ashok maintains that he is a peaceful man ‘unlike those Muslims’ but, after spending some time with him, it became clear that he is a violent man who takes offence at the drop of a hat. Perhaps, this is why he joined the Hindu Kaamchor Sena, a local outfit which specializes in taking offense on behalf of all Hindus. “We have done some great work in the past. We were offended by PK. We were offended by Haider. We were offended by Oh My God, Goliyon ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela and Raees. If the movie talks about Hindus in any way and is set in India then we take offence and beat people up and set fire to the set. We threaten to sue the director and boycott the actors. Basically, we act like a bunch of fucking babies.”

When asked why he thought Muslims were violent, Ashok said, “Because they issue fatwas on people who dare to speak their mind. Why are they so violent? When we Hindus say that Kamal Haasan should be shot dead, it’s different. When they issue death threats it’s a barbaric fatwa but when we issue one it’s only constructive criticism. We are not violent people and wouldn’t hurt a fly…unless that fly is Muslim in which case it is fair game to hurt that fly because Aurangzeb. Now, if you don’t mind I have to go and sharpen my sword and calculate how many barrels of fuel is required to burn down 17 cinema halls. After that I’ll read some of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings and meditate on my terrace. Because I’m a peaceful man….unlike those Muslims.”

Dusro go gyaan dene me aage rahenge lekin khud pe control nahi hai inka.

khilji is not considered as a mughal also. so dragging Muslims into is is stupidity.

these are the occasions when such people have changes to make good money from producers.

I thought we closed that and we reopened this section, isn't it?

Also why are everyone jumbing the gun before watching.

I guess Bhansali has to make a special screening for Rajasthan audience to make the air clear, it will bring all the bashing down and ensure a smooth release.
