In an act of bravery, a 14-year-old boy dived into the Ganga river on Friday to save five women from his village from getting dragged away by the strong current. Muslim Khan, a young shepherd managed to save three of them although two teenaged girls were swept away by the water.
According to a report in Times of India, the teenager said that he did what he thought fit at that moment. "I was herding my goats near the Ganga river bank when I spotted five women crossing the river to reach a watermelon farm which lay across. Suddenly, one of them, a teenage girl, seemed to slip and was dragged away by the strong current. Soon, I saw the others, too, being pulled away in the water."
