YouTube has launched an Indian school curriculum focused education channel called Edu India. This channel features subject & class specific videos for 1-11th standards. YouTube has created separate channels for standards 1-12 and subject-specific playlists for each standard.
Types of videos & subjects covered: The videos tackle individual topics under subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, English, History, and Geography among others, and provide explanations, examples, problem solving and in some cases exam tips & tricks. Some of the videos are live-action videos, in which a teacher instructs students from what looks like a TV studio set, while other videos are in the form of webisodes with teachers providing audio instructions and demonstrating the same on the screen through graphics. In case of webisodes, a complete transcript is also provided below the video. The channel also offers workshop-like & animated videos for students in primary school (standards 1-4).
