Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) has reported a whopping 43.5 per cent jump in consolidated net profit on the strength of a robust growth during the festive season in the third quarter of the fiscal. While the whole TV industry saw some improvement in the ad climate during the quarter, ZEEL’s ad revenue surged 8.5 per cent. The company said that excluding sports business, ad revenue growth was in mid-to-high teens. ZEEL’s consolidated net profit stood at Rs 306.5 crore (Rs 3.06 billion) in the three-month period ended 31 December 2014, compared to Rs 213.6 crore (Rs 2.14 billion) a year ago. While operating revenue grew 14.8 per cent, expenses also saw a 12.6 per cent increase on a year-on-year basis.
