I have watched b/w tv in my grandmother's village home in my lower ages which was having a yagi antenna equals 2 times the height of a large coconut tree to receive signal from 100kms away...... If air traffic controllers found it, they would have requested for an airtraffic obstruction light....

I have watched B/W TV in childhood . TV used to have shutter and manual Tuner and we used to have a Yagi Antenna on a long Pole for better quality.
I used to catch nepal tv signals in patna using booster on mega antena which was installed with highest possible bamboo...the signal used to come once in 4 saturdays and during those days when dd1 dd2 were there, nepal tv used to show a bit newer movies...and this was to watch the reception on 14 inch black and white Oscar tv. Oscar tv was bought for 1900 rs to save 200rs as other branded tv like onida (onida was big brand once) was available for 2100.

I have two Sony Bravia full HD led TVs (32 and 40 inch) running fine with stunning PQ&AQ for 4 years..... Both TVs work 5 hrs per day.....
Looking at the fate of my friend's sony tv pannel which lasted just for 6 months, I have taken one precaution - I have connected the tv via UPS.
