I don't think in India it happens I can agree in regional channels specially North East, Odiya channels do show even movies via CD / DVD but not National channels, you will never see T Series songs and Trailer in ZEE Channels but you can see YRF, ZEE Music Company's songs and promo because all these music groups signs a contract with music channels.

I think you're confuse on Hindi News channels which use to show clipping from Home Video of Ultra, Shemaroo etc.
