Taking a stern view on the non-implementation of its orders, the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has asked the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) to cancel the licences of all multi-system operators (MSOs) operating in Telangana for failing to follow its directions to carry TV9 channel.

Acknowledging that the order will have grave consequences for the people of Telangana who may be deprived of viewing TV through the medium of cable, the tribunal said, “before making any such direction, we would like to hear the Solicitor General for India”.

The tribunal had requested the Solicitor General for India to address the issue on 29 October. It has also asked the Telangana home secretary, who is the fifth respondent in these petitions, to appear on that date either in person or through a counsel.

Nice decision and this needs to be implemented by the MI&B.

(off topic: I thought TDSAT wants Telangana govt be dismissed for not implementing their order :p)

But this is a different case. Not only license of these MSOs should be cancelled, instead they should be put behind bars for doing such anti-national things.
