ZEEL plans to revamp Hindi action movie channel Zee Action

Encouraged by the growth witnessed by smaller movie channels due to cable TV digitisation and expansion of TV viewership measurement to LC1 markets, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) is planning to revamp its action-oriented Hindi movie channel Zee Action.

“Our three channels Zee Cinema, Zee Classic and &pictures are comfortably settled, so it’s time for Zee Action to get more aggressive. We believe that Zee Action can drive more viewership. It has to evolve and get a big revamp,” ZEEL deputy business head of Hindi movie cluster Ruchir Tiwari said.

ZEEL has a portfolio of seven movie channels including five standard-definition (SD) and two high-definition (HD) channels. The SD channels include Zee Cinema, &pictures, Zee Classic, Zee Action and Zee Premier. It has two HD channels, namely Zee Cinema HD and &pictures HD.

Tiwari said that there is a need to promote Zee Action to raise awareness about the channel: “Right now, it’s more about awareness challenge and we need to shout more about the channel and make people more aware.”

For testing purpose they start showing Hollywood Movies but if tats the moto then simply & Pictures will comes in danger. Actually & Pictures is not at all need of the time.

They should would work on contents like this -

ZEE Action - Hollywood Dub, Bollywood and South Dub Action Movies and with ZEE Premiere they can revamps with all new Movies and & Pictures should relaunched as English Movie Channels to support ZEE Studio.

ZEE can afford 2 HD Hindi Movie Channels but not 5 SD channels its too much.

Actually its good channel to watch Sunil Shetty and Akshay movie. I watch it when nothing else to watch.

I think after seeing lower ratings of Sony Pal and Zindagi..ZEE has dropped the plan to launch &TV for sometime....it was about to launch in November..right?

Too many channels flooded in market but having same content.

They dropped planning of lots of channels, they were planning to have ZEE Cinemalu, ZEE Malayalam and all that but later scrapped and even replaced the license.

Infact they should close ZEE Premiere and use it in different way.
