But later it could have opted foreign satellite but TS was waiting for GSAT launch to procure it only to decline.

That is what i am saying they had many options but they only chose to give excuses one after another

Ratan tata was board director hence ts get benefit I.e.ts got all 12 tp of insat 4a, yes this can't be ignored.
Here scenario is different. If ts accept Gsat10 then no gaurenty that ISRO/DOS will provide demanding extra capacity on time. On other hand foreign satellite operators can deliver satellite capacity anytime.
When we buy something from a seller and he late to deliver that product despite having done payment before delivery. And same product can be delivered on time by the seller with the same price which seller will you choose?
tata sky can move other foreign satellite but problem is that they bound by agreement so they need to make full payment of insat 4a then in this scenario ts need to pay for both satellite rent also ts might think that they not need extra capacity till insat 4a end but digitization and revolution in HD tv changed the whole scenario of industry. All dth suddenly faced bandwidth crunch that time dish tv, d2h got benefit of foreign satellite and ts realized that importance of foreign satellite. Hence tata sky cancel the plan to adopt Gsat 10 as replacement as no future with Indian satellite

but as of now anytime the satellite can get power failure as many have told that current sat is nearing the end of its life so it is better to get the replacement and wait for the foriegn sats to migrate. I think only SES satellite would be launched in the same alignment of current TS sat.

I think to higher foreign satellite is lengthy process for first time as there are need clearance from Dos, MIB, home ministry and may be more but as per current agreement isro will be responsible for provide capacity till agreement date. We might be unknown that coming signal can be from Gsat 10. Might be insat 4a stop functioning and only in idle position ( satellite tp work on solar power but satellite move on fuel power) also we all knows that isro recently activate some vertical tp but might be it from insat 4a as they have very low signal.
