Tata Sky has the space and have many options to add new channels. its just that they don't want to add new channels to keep profits running by having minimum channels and maximum pricing. That's their CEO's strategy. Until Mr. Kaushik was the CEO Tata Sky was the fastest in adding new channels plus was economical. Its useless to expect anything from Tata Sky, only way that a channel can be added on Tata Sky is to stuff loads of money in their pocket and get their channel launched. They always take undue advantage of being a premium and popular brand. Anyways if u r satisfied with limited channels then continue with them or choose other options. Already many Tata Sky customers have started moving out of their service bcoz of them being costly and giving less channels. As u know out of 64 Million DTH customers, only 38 Million have active connections and that out of the inactive chunk majority are Tata Sky, Dish TV Customers.
There are operators like Videocon d2h who spend less on show off while on the other hand there are ops like Tata Sky who spend lavishly on making ads for all active services, products for which they hire actors, production houses plus they make ads like prison escape which costs crores and then they spend crores on creating premium services. All this money they take out from customers pockets by having highest package pricing and giving less channels so that they have to give less out that pie to broadcasters. Its ur choice which strategy you like, paying premium for Tata Sky or enjoying maximum channels at low cost with Videocon d2h as they don't beleive in spending crores in showing off like Tata Sky. Airtel is somewhat in the middle of both but is good
Plus i like the strategy of Videocon d2h that they keep package prices down by adding many less popular channels fpr carriage fees which gives them revenue and burden of paying more is not passed to the customer

Tata Sky is surely a pro at giving twisted answers. A person sent a complaint to MIB for Tata Sky not relaying FTA DD channels and Tata Sky said that we cannot telecast them as our dish is not pointed at Insat 4B. What they should have ideally replied is that why they r not telecasting DD channels which are mandatory to carry but as usual they won't have any response so they gave a twisted turn
