As soon as they start it, i will call and them and arrange for migration of my dish. Did the same with airtel, mine was the first dish in my city to be aligned by them. The Airtel Engineer told me this

I guess TS has contract with ISRO only till Nov 2015 for Insat 4A.
But it may require 2 years for movement then......?
Also mpeg4 STB migration is not yet completed so all users would not get all the channels....combined effect....?

2 years for migration......That means channel addition may not be uniform & equal to all users..........?

Depends on their policy, airtel added new channels as soon as migration started or i guess even few days before it. Old Satellite customers called them as to how to get new channels and they registered request for migration. I guess Tata Sky would do the same, this will give customers a reason to migrate, even in MPEG4 Migration Tat Sky did the same. Most customers are technically challenged so they don't understand things like MPEG4 Migration or moving to anew satellite etc. and DTH companies always give a reason beforehand to them for the change as without reason most customers even do not allow any change. Addition of channels lures customers to be readily accepting the change fast

For those Subscribers who are still on MPEG2 boxes, both MPEG4 STB and dish alignment would be done at one shot. There will be some effect for MPEG2 subscribers

Doesn't matter user change it first or later until and unless we're not in forum world we don't even get to know what channel added where and what he needs to do to get those its a company policy and only they set the target to complete the migration.

But those who already migrated will have to give time their valuable time again to realign their dish and as per company they completed more than 50% migration and done in many states so again alignment for them.

But, I really liked the way TS started with MPEG4 migration where they sent SMS to those subscribers who had MPEG2 box mentioning that the channels to which they are subscribed is being moved to MPEG4 and STB will be replaced for free

Yes, Dish Technicians in South India will be cursing TS for this.
