That is what I am telling bro.HDMI 2.0 needs for 4k and it is not yet come in to market.Wanted to share this fact...from my understanding of this aritcle, we should be able to enjoy tata sky 4k on our 1080p tv and hdmi 1.4 cable as well (to considerable extent) as hdmi 1.4 cable supports following -
"While HDMI 1.4 has a throughput of 10.2Gbps, it's only enough to support a 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels at 24, 25 and 30Hz or to display full 4K (4096 x 2160 pixels) at 24Hz."
And tata sky 4k specification is - 3840 x 2160

It's not only codec requirement, the chip(processor) on STB needs to have the capacity to stream 4KThat means technically TS may push that so called 4K channel thru' HD STBs....only thing is codec requirement.....
or without codec...TP space requirement....?
So that means even for pure (western) quality HD (which is 4K for TS), one requires 4K STB........It's not only codec requirement, the chip(processor) on STB needs to have the capacity to stream 4K
