It's a superstition in Hinduism, which makes a religion and people weaker.
In every religion we have such examples.
People should ask questions for everything they do. If it's illogical, they shouldn't do it.
If someone wants to drink alcohol, he must drink all day.
It's no different in Durga Puja or Kali Puja or Laxmi Puja.
They are all one.

I am really shocked to hear from ndtv that yesterday the temperature in Mumbai was 40.5 its just unbelievable.....

It depend upon person to person. belief to belief. There are lots of people who don;t believe in God and many hindus who eat beef. That doesn't mean everyone start doing it. Also, there is nothing like sin or saint. These festivals help me to control myself from getting drunked 365 days and habitual to drinks. So, i took this in such way.

Also, i may be superstitious but whenever i think or drink during such festivals, i had encountered problems, so i have started avoiding drinks during Navratri, Ganpati and Saawan.

Came back from vijay sales and there i had seen 4k TVs of videocon and it was nice to see those 4k TVs for 90k and pq was superb than Samsung UHDs :woot:
