A BJP MLA Sundarlal stoked controversy on Monday by advising parents not to give their daughters mobile phones.

"Mobile phones are spoiling girls. It has adverse effect on the values they inculcate and their character," the MLA, who received ticket from Pilani Assembly constituency via SC quota, said.

His remarks came while he was addressing a gathering at Ambedkar Bhawan in Jhunjunu.
