"Anita is doing quite well in health and school. She is growing in length and also quite well built, though by far not a fatty. They are having English lessons now at school which interest her quite a lot."

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's wife Emilie Schenkl wrote this letter from post-war Austria, when one of the few bright spots in her lonely life was their daughter. Netaji's nephew Sisir Kumar Bose, the letter's addressee in distant Kolkata, was not the first one to read it. Before he did, several Intelligence Bureau (IB) officials had quietly copied the letters and put them away into secret files on the Bose family. For over a half century, copies of this letter and several others like them sat in an unusual location: in the locked cupboards of the state IB office in Kolkata. Recently declassified by the Union Home Ministry and placed in the National Archives, these files now reveal independent India's dirty state secret. For two decades, between 1948 and 1968, the government placed the Bose family members under intensive surveillance. Sleuths intercepted, read and recorded letters of the family of a freedom fighter who was Nehru's political co-worker for 25 years. IB sleuths discreetly tailed family members as they travelled around India and abroad, recording in minute detail who they met and what they discussed. The surveillance was exactly as it would be today on a wanted terrorist's family-rigorous, methodical yet unobtrusive. The revelations have shocked the Bose family. "Surveillance is conducted on those who have committed a crime or have terrorist links. Netaji and his family fought for the freedom of the country, why should they be placed under surveillance?" asks his grandnephew Chandra Kumar Bose.

Newly declassified papers from the Netaji files reveal a shocking secret. PM Jawaharlal Nehru's government snooped on the family of Subhas Chandra Bose for nearly two decades : Cover Story - India Today

"Parallel Lives states that "Bose believed he and Jawaharlal could make history. But Jawaharlal could not see his destiny without Gandhi, and the latter had no room for Subhas".

Because of Nehru, Gandhi we're facing problems of hate politics and war of religion and region.

If Sardar Patel and Shubash Chandra Bose got the power of this country then no fool had the dare to take the inch from our Country.

1 old man demanded a separate country and like a cake it's served to him and because that stupidity we're fighting from our owns and few illiterates are enjoying these and working to divide Rest of India.

Gandhi and Nehru was power hunger and wants to be leader of independent India at any cost.

I don't like money notes having only Gandhi's picture printed on it. Like there are no others who contributed in freedom.

As per news reports it appears that earlier congress govt & Nehru were aware that Bose is in Russia under detention. But it seems Nehru made no effort to bring Bose back in India, may be due to fear that he would become active in politics again & pose challenge to him....

Nehru knows that fact that if Bose took over then his position goes jeopardy.

I think if Bose tooks this country as PM and Leader of Congress then we could see more stronger and respective India and new dimension of Congress compare to current scenario.

Now India not only having external problems but internal too and everyone wants a piece of pie which is cooked in Nehru - Gandhi's house.

Nehru, Gandhi ends the life of many great leaders of India and another one is Lal Bahadur Shastri, time has come to expose Father and Royal Family of India that why and how these great leaders died ?
