I'm using a TataSky+ SD since year 2009 and looking forward to upgrade to an HD DVR. But am not being able to decide whether I should stick with TataSky or switch to Airtel. Below I've tried to point out the pros and cons of both according to me and I request all the members specially users of DVR to comment.
TataSky+ HD :
+Good Customer Care Support.
+High Quality & Reliable STB's.
+Dedicated Mobile App allows to Remotely Schedule Recording & View AC Details.
+Dhamaal Mix Pack (240), English Entertainment (60), English Movies (70), HD Fee (125) is a good combo for me.
-For existing customers, the price of HD DVR is 5990 which is more then new connection of Airtel.
-Heard that PQ of TataSky is not as good as Airtel.
-Too much of signal issues during Bad Weather.
-Basic Remote.
Airtel HD DVR :
+Cheaper (4990) compared to TataSky.
+Universal Remote.
+Strong & Steady Signal during Bad Weather as confirmed by Airtel users.
+High Quality & Reliable STB's
-No App like TataSky Mobile. Will have to access "my account" via web to schedule Recording.
-Customer Care Support is inconsistent.
-Channel Packages aren't very flexible. But Value Prime 23 HD (440) along with Zee Cafe (20) & HBO (30) will work for me.
-If I go with Airtel, my TataSky STB & Dish will be laying at home.
