News Sony Six bags broadcasting rights to India vs Sri Lanka 2015 test series

Multi Screen Media’s (MSM) sports and entertainment channel Sony Six is in the final lap of signing an agreement with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for the upcoming home Test series between India and Sri Lanka, a source familiar with the development said. Sony Six is believed to have bid around $2 million for the telecast rights. ZEEL-owned Ten Sports is the official broadcast partner of SLC. However, the India series was not part of the deal. Sri Lanka had pitched in to fill in the gap when the West Indies pulled out of the series against India in October 2014 due to conflict between the West Indian board and players.

So once again star flexing it's muscles with Ten and BCCI for another subcontinent series. anyone has any idea whether star and msm are joining hands to oust ten from grabbing cricket rights? I meant any article with respect to this

These are internal things, BTW deal is of India's Tour of SL and TEN give up because there is no reason to bid for mono-play market.

Who knows BCCI might send Sourabh Tiwary, Ramesh Power type player in SL sighted a injury excuse.

Off Topic: Seems like all BCCI peoples having Tata Sky in home and since TS degrades the quality of ZEE channels hence they don't like to watch matches on TEN channels :hehe: :signlol:

Bhai what is the role of tata sky in this ; this has happened coz Zee wale is not so serious about this series and they are happy with other events and not bothering about this series as India A team is playing so its not fair according to me

I already said its a off topic.

But yes there is no reason to waste money when you won't get benefits. SLC should stood tall and defend Ten SPORTS rather then signing contracts like begger with STAR and Sony.
