Zee TV unveiled one of its most extravagant shows ‘Ek Tha Raja, Ek Thi Rani’, which will hit the TV screens in the primetime band at 9:30 pm from 27 July. The period drama exemplifies Zee TV’s attempt at a gradual content transition to broaden its audience base and have more inclusive viewing. Developed by Sphere Origins, ‘Ek Tha Raja, Ek Thi Rani’ promises to be a classic saga exploring the dynamics of romance taking place behind the four walls of imperial palaces in pre-Independent India. The 1940s were a time of change in India. The love story of a king and a commoner with the backdrop of a struggling India made for a compelling storyline for Zee TV. The show was conceived by Nilanjana Purkayastha, who is also its creative producer.
