Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd’s (ZEEL) free-to-air channel Zee Anmol has acquired the rights to the fiction property ‘Bandini’ from the now-defunct Imagine TV (earlier NDTV Imagine). Produced by Balaji Telefilms, the show aired in January 2009 on NDTV Imagine and boasted a cast featuring Ronit Roy and others. ‘Bandini’ is the story of a young girl’s journey and the conflict she faces at the hands of destiny as she struggles to fight against the class and caste divide of society. The channel claims that it has handpicked the show as it echoes the Zee Anmol philosophy of ‘Dil Choo Jaaye’. The show will premiere on Zee Anmol on 28 September at 9 pm. The story binds two strangers together in a stirring saga of greed, pride, deceit and traditions, and showcases a young girl who is forced into a marriage of convenience with an elderly man twice her age.
