Tamil Nadu Cable TV Operators’ General Welfare Association said that they will protest against Dhanush over his appearance in Tata Sky Ad.

Tamil Nadu Cable TV Operators’ General Welfare Association state General secretary, G Dhamodharan said, “We strongly condemn popular actor Dhanush for insulting cable operators in an advertisement for a DTH company.” He also requested TN Government to ban the ad.

Tata Sky ad was launched few days ago. The ad showed that Dhanush will speak against local cable operators. Dhanush will say that cable operators target more money by showing unwanted channels from unknown languages. This is the main cause behind.

Same protest happened in Mumbai against Videocon and they were forced to withdraw the digitization campaign. They were calling cable box as Dubba

It looks like cable TV operators, who had earlier filed a complaint against Dhanush, for portraying them in a bad light, are now planning to file a defamation suit against him. The ad for a DTH service provider says that cable TV operators charge for channels that the audience doesn't watch. Though the line was removed from the ad, it has been taken in an offensive manner by the association. The Tamil Nadu Cable TV Operators Association had filed a complaint on the actor seeking an unconditional apology from him.

The latest claim by the association is that if the actor fails to apologize, they would file a defamation case. The actor, however, is yet to react on the issue.
