Due to urbanisation the waters couldn't seep through the lands and houses built on lakes. This is the worst rain in 100 years that received and broke the record.

but y govt. gave the permission to make the building on the lakes ?
who will take the responsibility now.
news channels r saying that out of 86 lakhs people of chennai more than 60 lakhs people r suffering
more than 10 lakhs people evacuated their land n managed to nearby school n colleges.

The total rainfall was received 108 in 1918 and this year it is 119.73 so this is clearly not man made flood but water didn't have a way to go through.

bhai i did not understand it completely but many researchers came in to media news channels n they clearly told that only chennai people are responsible for that. i hear the same thing even on many hindi news channels.
but my question is how the public can be held responsible? it must be govt. only na ?

zee news is best now a days as they really covered chennai floods in a big and good way.
hindi business news channel cnbc awaaz asked all telecom companies to provide relief to chennai people by making incoming and outgoing calls free.
but except airtel i think every other private company rejected it.

The lake and reservoir reached its max limit and the excess water is being released and hence the water flow caused the flood and also Chennai is not use to receive such a huge rainfall. This year it was raining continuously from deepavali and non stop. Hence the flood so people and govt are not responsible entirely but we should care about mother nature too. It is because of urbanisation and encroachments on the lake side.
