You need to reload the page after liking.

Like reload and check now. It will be visible.

But i think it is better to put the link directly.

It was directly previously. But our news was getting copy pasted by pirates on another forum. So admin decided to add this feature so that atleast news sharer get some likes even though copy pasting can't be controlled.
